The Wedding Waltz

As we have our first dance
As husband and wife
I think the dance lessons paid off.
One, two, three- up, two, three
We rise and fall and glide
In each other’s arms
And I wonder what ups and downs
Lie ahead for us...
Two whole beings moving along
The floor as one.
Together we stride- as we will in life,
Four legs stepping long and light
Move synchronistically
Two straight-backed, solid figures...
Two bodies and two souls
Reveal their Souls, their spirits fly and flow
In aesthetic movement of circles.
As we whirl and twirl and swirl across the floor
Our essence is unleashed,

Free as two lovebirds we soar
Each expressing our essence more sweetly
More completely
Because of our subtle interplay.
Energy flowing from one to the other...
Up one’s arms and down the other’s
We hold our own presence.
Honor each other’s presence
With a curtsy and a bow
Two people present themselves
To the world
And to each other
But mostly to ourselves.
